Summary:
The Director, Investor Relations will be responsible for crafting, articulating and executing Benchmark’s global investor relations strategy and program. As part of this, you will craft a holistic strategy around investor messaging, targeting and outreach and will provide investor/market intelligence and counsel to our CEO and CFO, as well as informing investors and analysts about Benchmark’s business strategies and performance.
As a global leader, you are motivated by continuous improvement and a progressive approach, with experience leading investor relations in a fast-paced, global environment. You will be relationship-oriented and have a passion for working closely with all aspects of the organization to understand business needs whilst setting and representing a truly holistic Benchmark Investor Relations vision.
Responsibilities:
Partner with Benchmark’s CEO, CFO, and others to manage the preparation and execution of quarterly earnings calls, investment conference calls and annual meetings.
Build the quarterly earnings materials and lead preparations for all meetings/conferences with investors, analysts, and certain media, collaborating with the legal and finance departments to assure compliance with all securities laws and regulations.
Lead all communications and activities directed to the investment community including earnings announcements, Q&A materials, investor conferences, investor visits/analyst days, one-on-one meetings, annual report, shareholder reports and presentations.
Plan and coordinate investor road shows, analyst days/meetings, and annual shareholders meeting. Work closely with key members of the executive team on public responses to issues impacting the company's financial performance. Anticipate market reactions to possible disclosures and advise accordingly.
Build and maintain key relationships within the investment communities. Proactively anticipate and drive key investor messages based on company performance, industry events and competitive dynamics. Respond to inquiries from investors, stock analysts, and other external constituencies as appropriate.
Partner on strategic corporate and brand messages, in collaboration with other members of the investor relations and communications teams to ensure consistency and compliance.
Digest and circulate key industry and competitive news and investor information internally to management and others.
Build and lead a comprehensive investor targeting program in order to find potential new investors while supporting current investors. Includes planning and executing non-deal road shows, investor conference participation, hosting in-office meetings and daily phone calls with investors and analysts. Drive the tracking and reporting of these efforts.
Execute the creation of publications and media used in the Investor Relations program. Participate in the data collection, analysis, writing and editing, and production of those materials, including earnings release and conference call script, question and answer / briefing documents, presentations, infographics, etc.
Direct and lead the execution of the collection, analysis, and presentation of feedback to the company of investors’ perceptions and opinions, brokerage security analysts’ positions and summaries, relative stock price movements, periodic ownership analysis, and street consensus expectations internally.
Represent the company at investment presentations, institutions, industry events, individual meetings and discussions, and with the media.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Marketing, Corporate Communications, Business, or related field required.
Minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience, including 8+ years of previous experience in a leadership role.
10+ years of relevant experience in an IR, corporate finance, sell-side/buy-side role.
MBA or CFA or progress towards CFA designation a plus.
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and networking skills with a variety of personalities and positions.
Ability to convert complex financial information into understandable text.
Ability to analyze and improve opportunities for investors.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Must be able to travel for meetings with investors.
