Join us.Team IntroductionThe Edge Platform team operates a large network of PoPs around the world, hosting the fast growing edge services for TikTok, such as traffic acceleration, CDN cache, livestreaming, gaming, etc. We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to help build and improve the Kubernetes-based edge computing platform (PaaS) that provides one-stop solutions for edge services on our globally distributed PoPs.Successful candidates must be able to commit to one of the following start dates:January 15, 2024February 5, 2024March 4, 2024May 20, 2024June 10, 2024July 15, 2024August 12, 2024We will prioritize candidates who are able to commit to these start dates. We encourage you to apply as early as possible.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with cross-functional team members to build enterprise-level platform (PaaS) that serves both internal and external teams.Develop and enhance microservices using Cloud Native technologies like Kubernetes, gRPC, REST, Nginx/Envoy, Postgres, Containers, etc.Write the necessary unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests.Work in a fast-paced environment and be responsible end-to-end to the production environment.QualificationsBachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computing Engineering, or related fields.Graduate with a background in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.Experience with coding in Go, Python, Java, C/C++.Experience with one or more databases and messaging frameworks, such as MySQL, Postgres, Redis, Kafka, etc.Experience in using Docker or other container technologies.Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in Kubernetes-related Cloud Native development, such as Kubernetes API, Operator, Custom Resource Definition (CRD) development, or other related Open Source projects.Experience with backend development and frameworks such as Gin, Iris, Django, Spring, etc.Deep understanding of data structure design, networking, authentication and data security.Familiarity with the whole web stack, including protocols and web server optimization techniques.Experience in using and contributing to Cloud Native projects, e.g. Prometheus, Istio/Linkerd, Envoy, KubeEdge, ArgoCD, OPA, Harbor, etc.ByteDance is committed to creating an inclusive space where employees are valued for their skills, experiences, and unique perspectives. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
