Dr. Glenn Flores, Chair of Pediatrics and Sr. Assoc. Dean of Child Health, at the

University of Miami Miller School of Medicine

(UMMSOM), and Physician-in-Chief at Holtz Children’s Hospital in the Jackson Health System (JHS), has initiated an international search to identify a transformational leader to serve as the next UMMSOM

Chief of the Division of Pediatric Cardiology

and the

George E. Batchelor Endowed Chair in Pediatric Cardiology .

The incoming Chief will have the opportunity to continue the legacy of the program and the responsibility of establishing and implementing a strategic plan that will guide the division into the future.

Eligible applicants shall be at the academic rank of Associate Professor or Professor , board-certified in pediatric cardiology, and hold or be eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the state of Florida.

Benefiting from a highly collaborative and strong divisional culture, tremendous opportunities exist in key areas, such as expanding clinical outpatient services and partnerships with referring community cardiologists, further enhancing the heart failure and cardiac transplant program, and recruiting additional talented faculty.

With a priority focus on building the divisional research and teaching missions, multiple areas of interest will be supported by the Department, with unique opportunities to collaborate with the Mailman Center for Child Development, an academic center at UMMSOM that is one of the top 10 programs in the United States for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and chronic illness.

Newly structured maternal-fetal medicine program and expanding fetal cardiology program.

Well-established University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Hospital Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship program that has experienced longstanding unconditional ACGME accreditation.

Opportunities to build satellite outpatient clinics across the South Florida region.
