About the TeamWe are a pioneering Machine Learning team at TikTok, committed to spearheading innovation in leveraging cutting-edge technologies in foundation models to enhance TikTok's experience. What you'll do:Understand and optimize TikTok's industry-leading recommendation systemDeploy, prompt, and fine-tune cutting-edge foundation modelsApply foundation models to enhance TikTok's recommendation system and product offerings, improving the experience of billion-scale consumers and creatorsCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, data scientists, and product engineers, to form and solve problems, refine machine learning algorithms, and communicate resultsRegularly run A/B tests, perform analyses, and iterate algorithms based on resultsWork with infrastructure teams on improving the efficiency and stability of machine learning systems
QualificationsHands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Recommender Systems, Data Mining, Natural Language Processing, or Computer VisionStrong programming skills in Python and/or C/C++, and a deep understanding of data structures and algorithmsFamiliar with architecture and implementation of at least one mainstream machine learning programming framework (TensorFlow/PyTorch/MXNet)Excellent communication and teamwork skills, and a passion for learning new techniques and tackling challenging problems
Preferred Qualifications:Prior research/industry experience with deploying, prompting, and fine-tuning foundation modelsPrior research/industry experience with applied machine learning, or large-scale recommendation systemsPublications at major AI-related conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI, IJCAI, ACL, NAACL, EMNLP, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, KDD, ICDM, SDM, RecSys, or simply on arXiv but with large impactStrong track record in AI-related competitions, or participation in public/open-source AI-related projects of high visibilityA strong passion for First Principles Thinking

Job Information:Compensation Description (annually)The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $126000 - $221760 annually.Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.Our company benefits are designed to convey company culture and values, to create an efficient and inspiring work environment, and to support our employees to give their best in both work and life. We offer the following benefits to eligible employees:We cover 100% premium coverage for employee medical insurance, approximately 75% premium coverage for dependents and offer a Health Savings Account(HSA) with a company match.
