People like you.Job Description:Microchip Technology Inc. has a Project Manager-Technical opening based in our Houston, TX or Roseville/San Jose CA office. As a Project Manager-Technical, you will drive delivery of Customer Solutions for Microchip. Customer Solutions span multiple functions (silicon, firmware, software, marketing, applications and infrastructure) utilizing a worldwide development team comprised of 100+ engineering staff. The successful candidate will manage the product from conception through the release to production and will involve the coordination of multiple internal functional groups and interfacing with customers.Beyond solid program delivery and technical skills, the successful candidate should be a professional with experience in hardware, firmware or software product development. You should have demonstrated the ability to synthesize strategic solutions that are interdependent and with a broad spectrum of problems. You must thrive in a very fast-paced and demanding environment and integrate quickly, providing leadership and partner across a wide variety of functions. You possess a strong internal drive, a tenacious spirit, a collaborative method of working and experience in solving hard problems as simply as possible.Responsibilities:Develop a detailed understanding of the entire program and the linkage of the elements.Help create and manage program level Critical Success Factors (CSF).Execute the program with an understanding of how changes in sub-programs can best be managed to minimize impact to the overall program.Work with marketing to define product requirements.Create and manage program schedules.Identification of required resources.Manage and document all phase gates and adhere to the design control process.Coordination of functional groups in the planning process that span multiple functions.Provide timely updates to key customers as required.Drive tracking and closing product requirements at the product level.Identify increasing work scope and other issues with sufficient time to address.Regular update of project dashboard.Communicate with Operations team on schedule changes that impact NPI Contract Manufacturing.Define the process for the project involving appropriate stakeholders (marketing, design, apps, software, Hardware, etc.).Help with initial capture, ranking and mitigation of risks.Regularly review risks to assess previously identified and new risks (monthly to quarterly).Requirements/Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree, Engineering preferred.12+ years of relevant work experience.Experience in delivering complex, technically challenging projects, with solid data analysis skills.Knowledge of Firmware Development, Software Development, Board Hardware Design, Product Validation.Experience with managing geographically spread, multidiscipline teams across multiple time zones.Excellent project and program management and planning skills, including scheduling, assessment, resource management, requirements management, status reporting, schedule tracking and risk management.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Highly organized with the ability to think strategically and tactically.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Phase Gate or other program management methodologies.Experience writing technical requirements.Experience with Microsoft Project.Exceptional skills influencing, teaming, and delivering solutions in a highly complex, always changing, and sometimes nebulous environment.Certified in Program Management is a plus but not required.Travel Time:

The expected base salary range for this position, if filled in California, is $88,000 - $232,000, dependent on specific skills and work experience. We offer a total compensation package that ranks among the best in the industry. It consists of competitive base pay, restricted stock units, and quarterly bonus payments.
