Location - Remote within United States

We are currently seeking a Staff DevOps Engineer to join our Emerging Technologies infrastructure team. In this role, you will be supporting our (ZPA) products. This position will give you the opportunity to challenge yourself as we rapidly scale our business and grow our global platform across over 150 data centers around the world.What You’ll Do

Architect and implement highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructureImplement and manage containerized applications using AWS services such as Amazon ECS or EKS, and orchestrate containers using Docker and KubernetesDevelop and maintain automation scripts using tools such as Terraform, and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Go) to automate infrastructure provisioning and configurationEstablish and optimize CI/CD pipelines using ArgoCD, Jenkins, Atlantis and other relevant tools to automate software deploymentImplement Infrastructure as Code principles to define and manage infrastructure resourcesSet up monitoring, tracing and logging solutions using SumoLogic, Prometheus, Grafana, AWS CloudWatch, AWS CloudTrail, OpenTelemetry and other relevant tools to ensure the health and performance of resourcesDevelop and maintain disaster recovery plans and ensure the resilience of cloud-based systemsIdentify and address performance bottlenecks, optimize AWS resources, and implement best practices for efficiencyDesign and deploy various platform related systems - data stores, monitoring tools, event streaming platforms, etc. Be a part of the project team or lead a project to completion and full adoption in the team.Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in cloud infrastructure, containerization, and cybersecurityQualifications

5+ years of work experience, with 5+ years of proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on AWSBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field experienceDeep understanding of cloud architecture, microservices, containerization, and in-depth knowledge of AWS services and architecture, including EC2, S3, Lambda, VPC, RDS, and moreExpertise in writing clean, maintainable, and efficient Infrastructure as Code using TerraformProficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Go) and automation toolsSolid experience with Kubernetes, including cluster management, networking, and security, as well as containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)Familiarity with AWS security best practices, including IAM, VPC, and security groupsExperience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stackExperience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologiesStrong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skillsPreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST, SOC 2, ISO 27001)Contributions to open-source projects in the cloud-native ecosystemExperience in implementation of Kubernetes operatorsZscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.Base Pay Range
