Job SummaryMA Engineers is a San Diego-based full-service MEP engineering firm specializing in professional consulting services for medical, laboratory, university, library, entertainment, civic, military, and educational facilities of all types. We are seeking a Mechanical Design Project Engineer.
Responsibilities and Duties
Mechanical (HVAC / Plumbing) systems design
Initial design development to construction support
Equipment selection
Client/consultant project coordination
AutoCAD / REVIT design
Leads and directs small to medium-sized projects from turnover through construction administration
Performs design and energy analysis
Distributes and controls the flow of work to the production team
Participates in weekly Project Manager’s meetings as necessary
Responsible for meeting deadlines
Maintains project file
Responsible for the coordination of project externally with consultants and owners and internally with principals and designers
Analyzes and plans project work and advises management of recommendations
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
LEED Accredited a plus
Working Knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office
Principals of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics & heat transfer
Time management skills and leadership ability
Able to carry tools and materials related to work and to sit, bend, stoop, and reach as necessary to perform duties
