This person will be responsible for overseeing the business aspects of hospital operations and upholding a sound medical environment in a very large veterinary hospital that includes surgery, neurology, internal medicine, oncology, and emergency. The Director will be working daily in a company that genuinely values local input and decision-making. The Director will support Leaders/Supervisors and the Medical Director to meet goals and foster an excellent service culture and working environment.What you will be doing but not limited to:Accountability for the hospital profit & loss statementsResponsibility to foster a collaborative and positive culture and work environmentFocus on exceeding client expectationsOversight of Leaders/Supervisors and Medical Director who support approximately 50 associates including doctors, technicians, veterinary assistants, and paraprofessional staffDevelop and grow future leadersOversight and development of onboarding, training, and continuity programsCultivate relationships within the veterinary communitySupport the recruitment of medical professionalsWho we are looking for:Prior specialty/emergency veterinary management knowledge is a plus.Strong leadership skills to develop a solid team and proven success in engaging with veterinary professionalsExcellent analytical and organization skills, with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilitiesPrior leadership for a specialty hospital or multi-site operational businessProven experience building high performing teamsAbility to multi-task and deal with high levels of stress in an environment of changing prioritiesExperienced record of generating revenue growth and ability to balance short-term needs and priorities while building for the futureSpecial Working Conditions:Flexibility in schedule and hours of availabilityThe environment where pets are presentPeriodic travel requiredCompany Info: VCA Animal Hospitals operates more than 1,000 small animal veterinary hospitals in the U.S., Canada and Japan.
