full-time temporary professor to join our Healthcare pathway. The Diagnostic Sonography Professor/Clinical Director is responsible for developing, preparing and teaching a range of courses in classroom, skills lab, and field settings. Duties also include clinical coordination and serving as a liaison between clinical sites and the program.Essential Functions:Prepare and teach Associate-level curriculum relating to diagnostic medical sonography - didactic and laboratory instruction.Collaborate with program faculty and staff on curriculum and program development incorporating current educational theories and research.Develop and utilize a variety of instructional strategies appropriate to the needs of learners.Employ innovative and inclusive teaching methods to engage a diverse student population.Identify equipment needs and advocate for a current teaching lab environment.Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student success.Collaborate with an advisory committee of community partners to keep curriculum relevant to local industry.Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback.Maintain regular office hours to support and improve student retention and success.Utilize learning management systems and other learning technology.Develop and foster community partnerships.Work with local employers and students to facilitate internships.Support division/department goals.Actively participate in departmental responsibilities.Serve on college committees and participate in college governance.Participate in professional development and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion events.Participate in recruitment and retention of diagnostic medical sonography students.Assure compliance with accreditation standards.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications and Experience:Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography educational program.Associate degree in diagnostic medical sonography or related imaging field.3 years recent clinical experience as a sonographer.Ability to meet State of Washington vocational certification requirements.Current BLS or Healthcare CPR certification.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher in related field.Full-time teaching experience in a diagnostic medical sonography program.Experience in curriculum development.Experience in JRC-DMS accreditation processes.Credentialing as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), or Advanced Practice Sonographer (APS).Conditions of Employment:Successfully complete a criminal history background check prior to employment.Duties of the position require the following knowledge, skills and abilities:Ability to inspire, motivate, teach and mentor students.Strong commitment to the profession of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.Knowledge and experience in a wide variety of health care settings.A high level of technology and application skills.Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.Strong interpersonal skills.Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, cultural awareness, and sensitivity.Success in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships.Application Process:Selected candidates will be invited for an interview which may include a teaching demonstration.
