The Commercial Sales Director will have commercial P&L responsibility for the product segment with a focus on driving growth from current accounts and hunting new customers. The Sales Director will own the P&L of the product group and set the marketing strategy, pricing strategy, and overall growth strategy of the segment.Client DetailsOur client for the Commercial Sales Director opportunity is a global industrial materials and minerals processor serving a wide range of customers and industries, including construction and building materials, filtration, metals, electronics, coatings, polymers, and more.DescriptionOwn the P&L and commercial strategy of the product group in conjunction with the Director of Operations for the North America region.Direct, lead, and manage a small but growing sales team as well as drive growth through distribution partners.Execute strategic sales plans and activities to gain market share and increase overall profits.Work in tandem with the Vice President, Director of Operations, Marketing, and Product Marketing teams to develop and execute sales and market strategies, conduct quarterly sales meetings, and business reviews.Develop monthly sales reports based on goals and KPIs and report back to the Vice President.Conduct joint sales customer calls with Sales Managers to pursue new business and ensure retention of current customers.Drive growth through new customer acquisition demonstrating a strong hunter mentality.Lead from the front, setting the example as a working Sales Leader and managing a book of customers.Create a culture of learning by engaging the sales team in regular communications, initiating sales meetings, observing client visits, and actively participating in coaching and training.Drive commercial and operational excellence by establishing and maintaining a continuous improvement culture.Provide market and product feedback to marketing and product development teams.ProfileBachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering.MBA preferred.10-15 years of sales experience within materials and minerals selling to industrial customers.3-5 years of experience in a Sales Leadership role managing a team.Hunter business development mindset.Experience in ceramics, polymers, mining, silica, glass, coatings, building materials, or similar.Strong mentoring, coaching, and development skills.Familiar with ISO requirements is a plus.Strong leadership skills and ability to work with cross-functional departments.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Strong personality and mentoring skills with the ability to influence internal and external customers.Ability to travel 50% plus in the North American region.Job OfferCompetitive base salary $160,000 - $190,000, bonus, company car or car allowance, phone, company credit card, computer, 401K, vacation, hybrid office environment, and full benefits.
