Our faculty and students are creative risk-takers who pursue excellence across a breadth of disciplines.Stanford's Science and Engineering Quad (SEQ) comprises an 8-acre site consisting of four buildings with over 600,000 sf of workspace and an inner courtyard, providing state-of-the-art facilities for research and teaching and extensive community gathering spaces. These modern facilities enable Stanford scientists and engineers to collaborate in a showcase setting that minimizes environmental impacts.The School of Engineering seeks a Science and Engineering Quad Facilities Manager to provide leadership to the building managers who are entrusted with the care of the SEQ buildings. Reporting to the Associate Director of Operations and Safety, this position is essential to supporting the multiple schools and departments that occupy the SEQ.Your responsibilities include:Oversee the daily operation and management of assigned facilities and programs, including scheduling and assigning work to staff and coordinating with staff, subcontractors, and/or vendors.Clarify and resolve problems spanning multiple areas or technical fields and/or oversee or develop programs within assigned facilities.Manage and/or develop budget for area of responsibility, including staffing, maintenance, contracts, etc.Manage ongoing service contracts as applicable.Participate in department/unit strategic management, including making recommendations involving short-term planning for facility-type projects and for longer-range programs/projects.Oversee and/or monitor project activities; ensure integration with larger unit goals; coordinate with staff, subcontractors, and/or vendors.Education & Experience (Required):Bachelor's degree in engineering or other appropriate technical area, or combination of technical education, training, and experience.Two or more years of experience managing facilities operations and maintenance staff in an environment with a variety of building types.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (Required):Knowledge of environmental and safety rules, regulations, and policies.Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with others.Demonstrated experience managing service contracts.Demonstrated experience developing and managing budgets.Demonstrated experience planning, developing, and implementing programs.Working Conditions:Requires 24-hour response availability seven days per week for emergency situations.May be exposed to noise > 80dB TWA.May work at heights 4 - 10 ft.Physical Requirements*:Frequently sitting, performing desk-based computer tasks, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.Occasionally stand/walk, twist/bend/stoop/squat, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.Rarely kneel/crawl, climb (ladders, scaffolds, or other), reach/work above shoulders.Work Standards:Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrates the ability to work well with Stanford colleagues and clients.Promote Culture of Safety: Demonstrates commitment to personal responsibility and value for safety.Pay Range:The expected pay range for this position is $108,000 to $157,000 per annum.Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.How to Apply:We invite you to apply for this position by clicking on the “Apply for Job” button.
