The team is diverse, the questions are thought-provoking, and the opportunities for growth and advancement are numerous.The successful candidate will leverage their development skills and experience to support the successful ingestion, cleansing, transformation, loading, and display of significant amounts of data, while maintaining and improving the Sponsor’s data lake services, Hadoop environment, and Hadoop services.Duties, Tasks & Responsibilities
Designing and implementing large-scale ingest systems in a Big Data environmentOptimizing all stages of the data lifecycle, from initial planning, to ingest, through final display and beyondDesigning and implementing data extraction, cleansing, transformation, loading, and replication/distribution capabilitiesDeveloping custom solutions/code to ingest and exploit new and existing data sourcesWorking with Sponsor development teams to improve system and application performanceProviding support to maintain, optimize, troubleshoot, and configure data lake services, the Hadoop environment, and Hadoop services as neededOrganizing and maintaining documentation so others are able to understand and use itCollaborating with teammates, other service providers, vendors, and users to develop new and more efficient methodsRequired Experience, Skills, & Technologies
2+ years programming/development skills and experience in JavaExperience with service oriented design and architecturesStrong ability to manage competing priorities and communication to multiple stakeholdersHigh School Diploma/GEDMaster's degree can replace 1 year of experience; and/or any relevant certification can replace 6 months of experienceDesired Experience, Skills & Technologies
Hands-on experience with Hadoop and Hadoop services, particularly with large Hadoop clustersExperience with Nifi flows and deploymentsSecurity Clearance Required
TS/SCI with PolygraphPhysical Requirements:
Use hands to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.Constantly positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet.
