MTSI is looking for a Data Engineer to be a member of our team in support of the Army Geospatial Center (AGC). Qualified candidates will support a team with development, testing, and deployment of next-generation geospatial basemaps, derived from open-source content, in support of the US Army.Support data processing initiatives to create tiled basemap datasets from open-source and/or Department of Defense contentPerform regular updates to foundation datasets, incorporating new data as it becomes availableDesign, optimize, and execute automated data processing pipelines for large datasets.Coordinate with AGC stakeholders for development and testing of geospatial data dissemination systemsProvide subject matter expertise for containerization of data and data processing pipelinesProvide data management support to enterprise databases and datasetsAssist with migration, testing, and operation of data dissemination platformsProvide research into automated data processing workflows for analysis and product generation of geospatial dataSupport evaluation and experimentation of Tactical Servers and Edge Nodes as geospatial map serversQualifications:

Required:Active Secret ClearanceBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Engineering or a related field5 or more years related work experience in engineering, computer science, or related engineering disciplineExperience with DockerExperience optimizing PostgreSQL for large data processingExperience with optimizing data processing workflows to include parallelizationFamiliarity with MicroservicesStrong Python and Javascript development skillsStrong written and oral communication skills, with emphasis on briefing to obtain decisions and solve technical issues and test plans/reports writingAbility to work independently as well as part of a teamWillingness to learn, solve problems and perform in a dynamic work environmentDesired:Familiarity with GDALCloud integration and deployment experience (Azure or AWS)Development/integration experience with MapBoxDevelopment experience with PostGISSecurity+ CertificationPlease Note: U.S. Citizenship is required for most MTSI positions.
