The person hired for the position of Assistant General Counsel, Litigation attorney, Director, will be an experienced litigator in complex litigation joining a fast-paced team of other lawyers and a team of legal professionals who jointly manage environmental, product liability, civil and criminal litigation and regulatory issues in the Enterprise Risk Management group.Here, You Will Make An Impact By

Strategically managing complex civil and criminal litigation, as well as regulatory actions, including supervising outside counsel and consultantsProactively advising 3M business and Legal Affairs colleagues regarding litigation and company riskPartnering with 3M business and specialist lawyers to mitigate regulatory or litigation riskContributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Enterprise Risk Management teamYour Skills And Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Juris Doctor degree (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited law schoolTen (10) years of litigation practice in a private, public, government or military environmentTrial and appellate court experience in state and federal courts, in a private, public, government or military environmentCurrently admitted to practice law in relevant jurisdictions or eligible to become so within 6 months.Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Experience serving as in-house counsel.Experience serving as national or coordinating counsel for significant litigation.Experience with civil and criminal litigation, particularly mass torts, product liability, or environmental actions.Experience managing or coordinating large teamsExperience managing budgets and discoverySelf-starter with the ability to triage and manage time-sensitive matters simultaneously and effectivelyWork location:

The expected compensation range for this position is $215,577 - $263,483, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
