We are looking for a highly skilled Group Engineering Manager with a background in Machine Learning and Product Development to lead the Microsoft Weather AI product, rated the #1 weather product in the world with a reach of 1B+ users. Candidates should be passionate about artificial intelligence and product development at web scale. They will be responsible for the entire engineering organization, including product development (web development, mobile app, DAU, revenue), science (weather forecast models, deep learning, transformers, GANs, diffusion, CNNs, RNNs) and platform (real-time data processing, internet-scale serving). We are looking for an experienced leader who can drive an exceptional vision, strategy and results across multiple teams to make direct impact to 1B+ users globally, algorithmic improvements to online and offline systems, develop and deliver robust and scalable solutions, and continually improve our KPIs.

The Commerce, Feeds and Verticals organization specializes in building personalized and engaging products around news, shopping, weather, sports, finance, and gaming that can scale to 1B+ Microsoft users on desktop and mobile.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 8+ years delivering, scaling, and owning highly successful and innovative machine learning products using state-of-the-art machine learning and deep learning technologies in particular, hands-on experiences with deep learning models such as Diffusion Neural Networks (DNN), Attention, Convolution Neural Networks (CNN), Recursive Neural Networks (RNN) and frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, etc.)OR equivalent experience.3+ years managing teams and building highly effective organizations.

Additional Or Preferred QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years delivering, scaling, and owning highly successful and innovative machine learning products using state-of-the-art machine learning and deep learning technologies in particular, hands-on experiences with deep learning models such as Diffusion Neural Networks (DNN), Attention, Convolution Neural Networks (CNN), Recursive Neural Networks (RNN) and frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, etc.)OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years delivering, scaling, and owning highly successful and innovative machine learning products using state-of-the-art machine learning and deep learning technologies in particular, hands-on experiences with deep learning models such as Diffusion Neural Networks (DNN), Attention, Convolution Neural Networks (CNN), Recursive Neural Networks (RNN) and frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, etc.)OR equivalent experience.6+ years people management experience.5+ years experience in large scale computer vision, speech recognition, natural language processing, or weather prediction.1+ years experience developing and designing multi-tiered distributed services.

Software Engineering M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $158,500 - $276,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $202,800 - $304,200 per year.
