Our client is seeking a Tax Manager to work closely with partners and managers to lead and coach team members in tax compliance and consulting engagements. The ideal candidate will provide effective management and client communication skills while promoting a collaborative environment to bring value to clients.
Primary Responsibilities:
Exhibit a high level understanding of technical requirements, procedures and principles
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of specialized industry and/or regulatory requirements
Manage and monitor preparation and review of complex tax returns, including projections and estimate calculations
Review and advise on technical research memorandum
Research and review work papers for various book to tax differences
Effectively apply relevant tax law to particular clients and circumstances
Identify areas of specialization and continuously refine skills, knowledge and expertise
Collaborate with others to provide quality service to clients
Lead client meetings
Promote additional services to clients when appropriate
Develop intimate knowledge of clients and their business activities
Conduct training for associates
Manage projects by scheduling associates, tracking completion and managing the budget
Maintain open communication with team regarding the progress of completion on projects
Participate actively in training and developmental opportunities, both as an attendee and as a facilitator
Manage all aspects of billing, including client inquiries
Develop appropriate fee quotes for new tax engagements
Network to promote business and bring in new clients
Qualifications:
Accounting undergraduate degree required, Master’s preferred
CPA required
5+ years of tax experience is required
Advanced knowledge of Federal and income tax laws and principles of individual and business taxation is required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong time management, organizational and prioritization skills
Strong project management and delegation skills
