The position will contribute to our cutting-edge near-eye display technology, and will be filled by a highly-motivated individual with

at least 5 years of experience in a product development environment . Successful candidates will have previous experience in the consumer electronics industry, as well as a strong analytical background. This position will work closely with a high-powered Engineering and Industrial Design team, and be responsible for the detailed design and engineering behind our highly-cosmetic headset components.

Previous experience developing injection molded components and assembly design is required to be considered for this opportunity.

This position will be located onsite in our HQ office in Belmont, CA. This is not a remote work opportunity.Working together and supporting each other is critical to our success. We’re seeking candidates that will continue to bring that same enthusiasm to the team.Responsibilities:3D design and 2D drafting of injection molded, machined, stamped, and wire-form componentsDesign and development of mechanisms and flexible assembliesDevelopment of structural architecture of headsets based on ergonomic requirementsFinite element analyses of components and assembliesTolerance analysis of complex assemblies of injection molded partsAuthor clear documentation on mechanical inspection and performance requirementsSpecify appropriate materials for components to meet design requirements for both production and prototype fabricationInterface with overseas manufacturing partners on design manufacturability and resolution of mechanical issuesUp to 25% international travel to overseas manufacturing facilities may be requiredQualifications:BS or MS in mechanical engineering or related fieldThe ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant experience with expertise in the design of piece parts and assemblies for high-volume consumer electronics or relevant products3+ years hands-on 2D drafting and 3D modeling experience in SolidWorks software2+ years experience with mechanical FEA and simulationUnderstanding of GD&T fundamentals and familiarity with inspection techniquesExcellent documentation skills, including manufacturing and inspection drawingsExperience in design for injection molding of cosmetic partsWorking experience with overseas manufacturing partners
