Applications will continue to be accepted until this date, but those received after the review date will only be considered if the position has not yet been filled.Position descriptionThe Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Diego (http://pathology.ucsd.edu) is seeking a surgical pathologist with subspecialty training and expertise in Head and Neck/Cardiothoracic Pathology to join its Division of Anatomic Pathology.The successful candidates will have clinical responsibilities for specimens associated with robust organ transplant, general care, and cancer programs at the Rebecca and John Moores Cancer Center (the region's only NCI-designated Cancer Center), Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center and Cardiovascular Institute, Jacobs Medical Center, Hillcrest Medical Center, and the Koman Family Outpatient Pavilion at UC San Diego Health, as well as our referral/outreach/consultation programs and an expanding clinical integration network.The successful candidates will primarily attend and sign-out on the subspecialized head, neck, and cardiothoracic pathology of the Anatomic Pathology Division, but may also sign out on the Gastrointestinal/Hepatobiliary pathology, Cytopathology, and other Anatomic Pathology services as clinically required. (required at time of application)Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, DO, or MD/PhD in pathology or related fields.Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.Additional qualifications
