Overview

In this position, you will use your JavaScript, Python, and Java expertise to develop visualization software to understand data when proximity and location matter. Your work will help developer communities reimagine the capabilities of location-aware software applications that enable real-world improvements in governments and organizations. You will be part of a team that influences lasting contributions for communities with the web and mobile applications you create.

The Professional Services division is the consulting and implementation arm of Esri. We break ground in new markets, push the technology envelope and ultimately deliver transformational solutions to high profile clients worldwide. The Professional Services organization is comprised of nearly 1,000 talented business and technical professionals who strive every day to help our users be successful.Responsibilities

Front-End Development with JavaScript:Develop new user-facing features using React.js and other front-end libraries and frameworksBuild reusable components and front-end libraries for future useCollaborate with the design team to translate UI/UX design wireframes into high-quality codeOptimize components for maximum performance across different web browsersConduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure the highest level of quality

Automation and Data Analysis with Python:A Python developer is responsible for writing server-side web application logic using Python frameworks, such as Django, Flask, or ArcGIS GeoProcessing ServicesThey develop and maintain Python-based applications, ensuring their performance, responsiveness, and securityPython developers collaborate with front-end developers, data scientists, and other team members to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logicThey may also be involved in database design, writing APIs, and implementing data storage solutions

Web Service development with Java:Developing and maintaining RESTful APIsCollaborating with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze business requirementsEnsuring the performance, scalability, and security of web servicesSolve and articulate complex problems through application design, product development, and user experiencesDevelop software used by people who are not software developers, ensuring the exceptional software you create influences them to be exceptional professionals in their respective fieldsCollaborate with other programmers and developers throughout the development processEvolve your language skills in JavaScript and Python by staying current with complementary programming languages, development methodologies, user interface design techniques, and database tools

Requirements

1+ years of JavaScript and Python experience1+ years of professional work experience in a similar position supporting, or supporting similar responsibilitiesProficiency with additional front end development technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, Node.JS, and moreAn entrepreneurial awareness of how technology enables excellence within governments and organizationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProven ability to present to both technical and non-technical audiencesUnderstand the importance of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, RAD, RUP) and software design techniques (UML, entity relationship diagramming, use cases, data flow diagramming)Working knowledge of databases, such as MongoDB, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQLObject oriented design skillsBachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or mathematicsRecommended Qualifications
