Job Summary
NetApp is seeking a Technical Delivery Manager with a specialization in Infrastructure, a strategic role that will include both Agile and waterfall Project and Program Management responsibilities. The Technical Delivery Manager is responsible for effectively managing outcomes across the full range of technology-infrastructure-related initiatives, whether on-prem or cloud-based. This is not a passive 'report the news' Delivery Management role. You’ll play the role of master orchestrator – responsible for making the news and driving outcomes. Deep proficiency and experience in managing modern infrastructure-related projects and fluency in on-premise and cloud infrastructure vernacular is important to success in the role.Responsibilities
Translate functional requirements into the right delivery methodology (waterfall vs Agile), and then break the work into milestones, workstreams, dependency mapping, an execution plan, etc.For projects that are best suited for the waterfall methodology, you’ll own everything from charter definition, work breakdown structures, and workstream delivery, all the way through project closure.For projects that are more conducive to agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban), you’ll orchestrate sprints from planning to execution.Your role will include running daily scrums, managing the product backlog, collaborating on requirements documentation, and unblocking barriers to keep the team moving.Guide the team in time estimation practices and facilitate work estimates.Drive team iteration execution, communicate with management and stakeholders.Manage project conflicts, challenges, and dynamic business requirements to keep delivery tracks running efficiently.Postmortem and root cause analysis to help teams continuously improve execution practices to ensure maximum productivity.Proactively identify and eliminate velocity impediments and facilitate flow.Present high-level project readouts for management.Manage other special projects as assigned.Qualifications
BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.Minimum 6 years of infrastructure project management experience and 2 years leading sprints.Demonstrable expertise in agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, etc.Strong knowledge of Scrum theory, rules, and practices.Excellent communicator in all verbal and written mediums.Travel as required – less than 15%.Benefits
