Job Title: Lead Senior Data Scientist

Location: 50 W San Fernando Ave, Suite 1800, San Jose, CA 95113Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from The Trade Desk, Inc. office in San Jose, CAJob Duties:

Evaluate different statistical algorithms that are used to obtain the sampled data and design the proper procedures to work with sampled data.Apply various statistical, probabilistic and machine learning models to improve forecasting accuracy.Investigate how to use probabilistic data structures to study the relationship between audience and time and identify the trend differences to address the privacy concern and including seasonality.Evaluate avails data from different SSPs to confirm they can be used for product purposes.Run simulations to quantify the errors introduced by probabilistic data structure and demonstrate the business gain for publishers and advertisers with game theory.Design procedures to clean and organize the data, including a data drive model to remove duplicates.Explore the performance of forecasting models under data with different sampling schemas.Build up a quick forecasting solution on Rshiny for internal sales to use.Prepare summary reports with charts, graphs, and bullets for peers, internal sales, and external clients.Work with engineer lead and product manager to develop the roadmap and capacity planning.Salary:

Ph.D. (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Statistics, Operational Research or Applied Mathematics, or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related role OR Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Statistics, Operational Research or Applied Mathematics, or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related role.Must have three (3) years of experience with: machine learning, time series and simulation; statistical programming R, Python, and SQL; and data analyzing and visualization.Must have two (2) years of experience with experimental design and causal inference.Must have experience with user privacy in the tech industry.Additional Information:

In accordance with NY, CO, CA, and WA law, the range provided is The Trade Desk's reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The base salary range for this role is $295,194—$300,000 USD.
