Under direct supervision, the Research Data Analyst acquires skills and knowledge of professional concepts in research data analysis. Works on small projects or segments of projects with limited scope and complexity.This experience could serve as a great foundation for a candidate who wishes to pursue a MD, PhD, MS, or MD/PhD in the near future. Proctor Foundation for Research in Ophthalmology at UCSF is committed to engaging in research activities and providing state-of-art patient care that address infectious and inflammatory disease that cause blindness. The mission is the prevention of blindness worldwide through research and teaching focused on infectious and inflammatory eye disease.The Doan laboratory at the Proctor Foundation is a metagenomic epidemiology laboratory that utilizes innovative technical approaches and randomized controlled trials to understand how human microbiomes (ocular, gut, and upper respiratory tract) respond to clinically relevant perturbations, such as mass antibiotic administration. In addition, her group uses genomic methods to efficiently identify infectious agents and biomarkers for ocular inflammatory diseases. The laboratory is highly collaborative and works extensively with international partners and investigators.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.Preferred QualificationsExperience with R programming languageAcquiring knowledge of research function.
