Job Description - Counsel II (240005BL)DCAMM’S MissionThe Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) oversees over $2 billion in capital programs and projects, and is responsible for capital planning, project delivery, property acquisitions, dispositions, management, and real estate services for the Commonwealth. DCAMM is the steward of all the Commonwealth’s assets, which include 5.5 million square feet of state buildings.ResponsibilitiesGeneral Statement of Duties and ResponsibilitiesDCAMM is looking for an attorney with commercial leasing and commercial real estate experience to join DCAMM's Office of the General Counsel (OGC) to provide timely and high-quality legal services, advice, and guidance to the Office of Real Estate Management and other agency offices with respect to the acquisition, disposition, development and leasing of real estate as well as associated issues. The selected candidate will be expected to provide legal advice and guidance on an array of legal matters involving DCAMM, with a particular focus on real estate transactions, including leases, dispositions, and acquisitions; draft high-quality agreements, memoranda, and other documents; negotiate disputes in the best interest of the Commonwealth; provide analysis and interpretation of applicable laws, policies, and contract provisions; participate in meetings and decision making on relevant issues and projects; and to perform such other legal services as may be needed to support the General Counsel and DCAMM.
