Machine Learning Tools Product Manager

NLP PEOPLE, San Francisco, California, United States, 94199

Reporting to the Director of Product Management, the Machine Learning Tools Product Manager (PM) is responsible for building a set of the Narrative Analytics™ tools and capabilities to drive automation and new offerings. These tools will leverage machine learning, natural language processing, and network science techniques in novel ways to help our customers understand and shape the narratives that matter to them.

The PM will provide specifications and work with data scientists and machine-learning experts to design experiments, set goals, and specify ML model requirements. Narrative Analytics is a new space with room for considerable innovation and impact. The PM in this role will have to work through quite a few unknowns and inadequate data points, which requires experience in working through problems and situations that are inherently fuzzy and amorphous. The development of these new and innovative tools will require smart incremental decisions with sound judgment to push development forward. Since the PM will interact with Data Scientists, ML and text analytics/NLP experts, he/she should be able to speak their language, understand/evaluate the toolkits (open source and other vendor tools), and understand/evaluate vendor offerings to assess alignment and fit for building in-house tools and solutions.

The path to developing these capabilities involves challenging innovation and multiple unknowns. The PM will have to be innovative, tenacious, and solution oriented to drive positive outcomes using underlying data and advise from data science/ML counterparts. This position is based in our San Francisco office.
