We are looking for a highly talented Director, Program Management to join our OAL PPCOE team with a proven track record of implementing, coaching, and training Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) practices to improve value stream profitability and efficiency, using the Scaled Agile Framework as the standard for these practices. This senior leader will take our value stream execution utilizing LPM to new heights and improving the 30+ value streams for Oracle’s business and 80+ value streams for Oracle Application Labs’ system and solution delivery model. In summary, this senior role will have material impact to OAL's ability to deliver an ever-increasing amount of value for Oracle’s business into its value streams.Your responsibilities include:Coaching execution of SAFe Lean Portfolio Management in Oracle Application Labs with value stream leaders, epic owners, solution managers, and with our business partners.Training and developing content on LPM, value streams, and related areas requiring improvement through enablement.Supporting PPCOE operations and tools to identify metrics.Driving annual mapping of operational and development value streams to identify areas of improvement.Coaching value stream improvements into the view of the portfolio and the execution of the Agile Release Trains.Recommending adjustments to the Agile Release Trains to optimize flow-based feature delivery.Responsibilities:Developing and implementing LPM practices and principles to support our value streams based on and ensure these practices are scalable, repeatable, and consistent across the value streams.Coaching and mentoring improvements to our intake and the flow of Epics, running LPM events, guiding key roles such as OAL Leadership Team and Epic Owners in LPM execution and improvement, coaching improvements in the quality of Epic definitions, connecting Epic definition to Agile Release Trains through Product Managers and System Architects, and ensuring Epics can be measured against business outcomes.Working with business leaders, OAL value stream leaders, Epic Owners, and cross-functional teams to ensure value stream work aligns with overall strategy, plus identifying key performance indicators and objectives and key results (OKRs) for each value stream and coaching to align measurements to these metrics.Coaching and mentoring Epic Owners and portfolio leaders on resolving impediments to the flow of Epics through the Portfolio Kanban and helping to ensure Epic Hypotheses and Lean Business Cases are created and capture essential information needed to align to KPIs and OKRs.Coaching and mentoring the Weighted Shortest Job First method of prioritizing work by working with business leaders on identifying the cost of delay in executing portfolio Epics, as well as with OAL leaders on identifying the estimated cost to build (aka job size or duration).Leading the LPM Community of Practice and Portfolio roles in regular discussions to improve LPM execution.Recommending improvements to Portfolio tooling to provide improved views of the Portfolio to OAL leaders, business stakeholders and Global Process Owners, and in support of LPM operations.Providing additional training and enablement on various LPM topics and to LPM roles or adjacent roles such as Product Managers and System Architects.Identifying Agile Release Train changes to optimize value stream delivery.Requirements and skills:Completed certification as a SAFe Practice Consultant.Completed certification as a SAFe Lean Portfolio Manager.Experience as an employee or consultant with a track record of implementing Lean Portfolio Management practices using the Scaled Agile Framework to support value streams in large organizations.3+ years of experience providing training for SAFe Lean Portfolio Management, Leading SAFe, Agile Product Management, SAFe for Architects, and SAFe DevOps, with a track record of using the training to improve an organization’s implementation of Lean Portfolio Management and the Scaled Agile Framework.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate LPM principles and practices to internal teams and stakeholders.Willingness to be in-office travel to support key meetings, training, or LPM events as needed. 25% travel to the Bay Area is expected, if not located in the Bay Area.BS Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
