VMware NSX-T Engineer

will provide technical solutions of VMware products and infrastructures. Components would include a wide variety of VMware products and solutions depending on contract requirements.

Responsibilities include:

NSX-T Design and Implementation:

Lead the design and implementation of VMware NSX-T solutions to meet the specific requirements of our clients, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security.

Network Virtualization:

Design and manage virtual networks, including logical switching, routing, and firewalling, leveraging VMware NSX-T technology.

Security Expertise:

Implement and maintain network security policies and protocols within NSX-T to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.

Troubleshooting and Optimization:

Troubleshoot network issues, identify performance bottlenecks, and optimize NSX-T deployments to maximize efficiency.

Documentation and Reporting:

Create comprehensive documentation for NSX-T configurations, architecture diagrams, and incident reports. Provide regular updates and reports to clients and internal teams.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, cloud engineers, and security experts, to deliver integrated solutions that align with client objectives.

Client Engagement:

Engage directly with clients to understand their network requirements, provide technical guidance, and ensure client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

Stay Current:

Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to VMware NSX-T and network virtualization.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification in NSX-T is highly desirable.

Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing VMware NSX-T environments.

Strong understanding of network protocols, security principles, and virtualization technologies.

Proficiency in network troubleshooting and performance optimization.

Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Secret Clearance.

Experience utilizing VMware Validated Designs.

Experience managing and maintaining NSX-T environments.

Ability to troubleshoot NSX-T issues.

Ensuring network reliability and availability through well-planned and implemented solutions.

Deliver networking and security infrastructures.

Develop SDN networks in NSX-T with integration into physical Cisco Leaf/Spine networks.

Demonstrated experience with network overlay technologies like VXLAN, OTV, and EVPN/BGP.

Help develop/implement the automation of network deployment and configuration.

Configure network security layers.

Improve network manageability and scalability.

Excellent understanding of Networking technologies, including security and monitoring aspects.

Creates detailed and professional solution designs, diagrams, and implementation plans for small to large deployments; designs may include transformational IT initiatives such as data centers of the future, virtualization, cloud, infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), storage, networking, business continuity, and other solutions as related to the SDN NSX-T environment; other documents include as-built and other client knowledge sharing documentation.
