Commercial Attorney, Corporate & EPC- Renewables & Energy Storage

FULLY REMOTE (Anywhere in the USA)This is an opportunity to join an industry-leading renewable energy venture with strong private equity backing that is focused on the development, execution, and operations of dynamic utility-scale energy storage projects. They are at the forefront of the industry, have accumulated over 9GW of projects in a relatively short period of time, and are currently in an accelerated expansion phase which includes the addition of a Commercial Attorney to the Legal Team.The incumbent needs to have strong commercial acumen, a solid understanding of the legal nuances that go into utility-scale renewable energy projects, and be comfortable developing/assessing complex contract agreements for the Corporate, Project Development, EPC, Transmission & Interconnection Teams on all legal matters. Experience leading MSA and Non-Disclosure agreements HIGHLY preferred.They are committed to creating more renewable infrastructure solutions for the grid and are offering comprehensive compensation packages to their employees leading the drive to meet company goals. Acts as a key advisor on legal strategy for corporate and full-life cycle project development initiatives across the organization.Takes ownership of the legal agreement drafting/review process with minimal supervision from the GC.Assists in commercial negotiation of business-critical intricate contracts such as Equipment Supply agreements, EPC agreements, MSAs, Non-disclosure Agreements, Transmission Agreements, O&M agreements, and off-take agreements.Plays a key role in the evaluation of RFPs for the Project Development and EPC Teams to mitigate risk based on legal terms.QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 4+ years of legal experience supporting utility-scale renewable energy transactions with recent work in a LICENSED Attorney / Counsel / Lawyer role for a company focused on grid-connected utility-scale renewables development initiatives.Must have experience drafting complex commercial contracts including Equipment Supply agreements, EPC agreements, MSAs, Non-disclosure Agreements, Transmission Agreements, O&M agreements, and off-take agreements.Excellent communication skills and ability to participate in one-to-one interactions with Project Developers and EPC Teams to assess project requirements.Strong understanding of national energy markets as they relate to legal requirements - PJM, ERCOT, SPP, MISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, and CAISO.Ability to participate in advanced level discussions in the utility-scale renewables, transmission, and battery storage space.
