Prime Roots is headquartered in Berkeley, CA, and backed by the same investors as Blue Bottle Coffee and Sweetgreen.About the rolePrime Roots, a pioneering force in the plant-based food industry, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Retail Sales Manager (National Accounts) to spearhead our retail sales initiatives on a national scale. This position requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record in national retail sales, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to promoting sustainable and innovative food products. This is a role that requires someone who is excited to roll up their sleeves to achieve results.Key Responsibilities:National Retail Sales Execution:Responsible for full stack - prospecting to closing of retail accounts across categories within the store from deli/prepared foods to plant-based/retail (all categories are chilled and perimeter of store).Experience working with regional rollouts and national rollouts and pitching to regional and national teams.Experience successfully growing account values over time.Experience with creating decks and materials to close accounts and support accounts over time.Experience with signing on, onboarding, and managing distributors to support retail expansion.National Retail Account Management:Develop and maintain strong relationships with national retail partners, overseeing key accounts and ensuring alignment with Prime Roots' brand values.Negotiate and manage contracts, terms, and promotions to drive sales and enhance brand visibility.Responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of in-store marketing and merchandising programs and working with the marketing team to ensure that accounts are successful.Sales Strategy and Planning:Develop and implement comprehensive national retail sales strategies, including promotional campaigns, pricing strategies, and product launches.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of sales plans.Reporting and Analysis:Generate regular reports on national retail sales performance, analyzing key metrics and providing insights for continuous improvement.Utilize data to make informed decisions and adjustments to optimize sales strategies.Provide reporting and insights to the leadership team with thorough analysis and plan to achieve and exceed goals.Minimum Requirements:Proven track record in national retail sales management within food and beverage; deli experience and prepared foods experience a plus.Must have experience in the natural grocery/retail channel.Must be an excellent communicator and structured thinker to communicate clearly and concisely with a multitude of stakeholders.Strong network and relationships with national retail partners.Excellent leadership and team and project management skills.Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset.Passion for sustainability and promoting plant-based food solutions.Willingness to travel as needed (could be 50%+).Benefits:Opportunity to work in a fast-growing innovative food startup.Competitive compensation and equity.Excellent growth and advancement opportunities.Collaborative working environment.Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance.FSA, HSA, and Commuter Benefits Accounts.401k.Prime Roots is an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity and inclusiveness.
