WHAT IS THE

DIVISION?A description of the business units can be found at:Vacancies will be filled in the following specialty areas:Large Business and International Director Cross Border ActivitiesThe following are the duties of this position at the full working level.Serves as a technical expert in examinations of significant tax compliance issues and provides expert advice that may impact tax compliance strategy and the examination program as a whole.Performs assignments that are agency-wide in scope and have significant impact on issues facing the business unit. Develops, plans, analyzes and interprets policy on behalf of the Service.Provides tax law expertise, leverages specialized technical skills and knowledge, advises on new tax law and high risk/ emerging issues impacting business entities to bring to resolution.Participates with cross-functional representatives nationwide. Assists and advises internal and external stakeholders in all aspects of planning, execution and resolution of examinations related to cross border business tax issues to ensure organizational goals and objectives are met and policy is adhered to and in conformance with written standards.Advises and assists the Practice Area regarding the interpretation and application of Internal Revenue Code, Treasury Regulations, Federal Court cases, and IRS administrative guidance as related to cross border business tax issues. Advises officials in the IRS on proposed legislation and other matters affecting the work of Large Business and International.Requirements

To be eligible for this position at this grade level, you must have one (1) year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Legal, tax accounting, or other experience that required application of the Federal tax laws, regulations, court rulings, or other legal authority related to the position to be filled; Experience in preparing, reviewing, or applying rulings, advisory letters, memoranda, etc.; Experience performing research on tax law issues and business practices for their impact on tax compliance.
