Lenovo’s IBM Global Account Team is seeking a Sales Director to lead our relationship with our valued customer, IBM Cloud. The Sales Director will lead an extended team in delivering differentiated value and an exceptional client experience to IBM while growing the business overall.The Sales Director will develop and maintain relationships within IBM Cloud, including senior level management and across all areas of the business, cultivating a deep understanding of IBM Cloud’s business, technology, and operational objectives and challenges, and leveraging Lenovo strengths to deliver value.Working collaboratively with the IBM Global Account Managing Director and the IBM Cloud Account Team, the Sales Director will develop the account strategy and execute against all client requirements with a continued focus on growth and Lenovo differentiation.This is a high-profile client facing sales role requiring the ability to identify, cultivate, and close new business. The successful candidate will have the knowledge and experience to identify and lead large, complex opportunities and relationships at senior levels within IBM and Lenovo, while leading the extended team in executing flawlessly across all operational and support aspects of our business.The position is remote, with frequent client travel including but not limited to Texas, New York, California, and Washington DC.Key responsibilities will include the following:Manage the customer relationship with full accountability for client satisfaction and achieving account growth objectives.Cultivate a deep understanding of IBM Cloud’s business, technology, and operational objectives and challenges, leveraging Lenovo strengths to resolve complex problems.Build and maintain effective relationships across all areas of the client’s business, including mid and senior level executives, business and technical account decision makers and influencers, and key business partners.Deliver against aggressive revenue and profit targets, delivering an exceptional client experience, and driving growth in the account.Identify and cultivate opportunities for growth and to elevate the Lenovo-IBM Cloud partnership.Outshine the competition, capturing maximum share of wallet for Lenovo.Lead an extended team of talented sales, technical, supply chain, support, and other professionals in achieving account objectives and executing against all client requirements.Lead the development and execution of overall account plan.Plan, facilitate and conduct complex negotiations in a competitive environment.Exceed expectations in all facets of the client experience.Provide thought leadership and business direction to the team and extended team assigned to this account.Drive internal alignment and advocacy as required to meet IBM’s requirements.Preferred Requirements:Strong business and technical acumen, sales intuition, and ability to make strategic business recommendations and decisions.Success in exceeding sales objectives in the Data Center or CSP business.Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.Proven experience in strengthening existing customer relationships in large complex accounts and in cultivating new relationships with influencers and decision makers.Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically and execute tactically.Creativity and sound business judgment in developing new approaches and solutions.Ability to work collaboratively, lead an extended team across disciplines, and motivate team to accomplish aggressive goals.Ability to anticipate and clearly define problems, logically diagnose causes, identify or create solutions, create action plans, engage support as needed, and follow through to resolution.Proactive and able to work independently.Meticulous attention to detail across multiple workstreams.Willing and able to travel frequently within the US to all customer and internal meetings.Absolute integrity and the willingness to provide feedback in challenging situations.Basic Requirements:BS or BA degree or equivalent experience.10+ years of Data Center sales.Intimate knowledge of IBM Cloud and Lenovo a plus.The base salary range budgeted for this position is $161,000 - $215,000. Individuals may also be considered for bonuses and/or commissions.
