is seeking an experienced and innovative marketing manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will turn their experience in advancing social change into driving our marketing efforts to new heights. In this newly created role, you will play a crucial role in amplifying our brand, developing, and executing strategic marketing plans to our organization’s objectives and drive growth. The marketing manager will be responsible for supporting audience growth and engagement while generating revenue for a full suite of content products. Primary responsibilities include developing and executing integrated multi-effort marketing and awareness campaigns to increase subscriptions, newsletter signups, purchases in our online store, online events attendance, and other efforts to promote our products and services.The manager will also oversee the reporting and analysis of on and offline marketing programs and work to create, promote and maintain Chronicle products, such as a roster of benefits to entice subscribers to help advertisers find leads and their products.The Chronicle's headquarters is in Washington DC. This role can be fully remote and will report to the Senior Director of Audience Development and Marketing.Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to increase brand awareness, generate leads, grow customer engagement and revenue, and drive website traffic.Work within a marketing team while coordinating across departments to develop and execute innovative integrated marketing campaigns that reach targeted audiences through direct mail, email, social, in-house ads, and other online channels. Heavy focus on email marketing.Draft copy and create email marketing campaigns in Marketo for subscription and product marketing.Boost webinar registrations and revenue by marketing the product through email, social media, newsletters, house ads, and site promotions.Create subscription ecommerce pages that leverage copy, price, term, and design elements to A/B test and optimize controls.Manage content products through a digital storefront, including adding and updating product listings, uploading images and copy, and tracking inventory and sales against budget.Conduct market research and analyze nonprofit professionals’ behavior, trends, and competitor activity to identify opportunities and optimize marketing efforts.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, creative/design, editorial, and sales to ensure alignment and integration of marketing strategies.Oversee the creation of marketing materials, content, and advertisements, ensuring they align with brand guidelines and resonate with the target audience.Use analytics and marketing tools to measure and report on the performance of campaigns, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.Directly communicate with customers to answer their questions and inquiries on store products, subscriber-only and promotional events, and technical issues.Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to implement innovative marketing strategies.Qualifications

Proven experience as a marketing manager or in a similar role, preferably in the media or nonprofit sector. B2C, B2B, and DTC preferred.Proven experience (6-8 years) in a marketing role, with a focus on developing and implementing successful marketing campaigns.Strong understanding of various marketing channels and techniques, including digital marketing, content marketing, social media, SEO/SEM, email marketing, and analytics.Proficiency in marketing automation management tools, content management systems, CDP, and ecommerce platforms.Creative thinking and the ability to brainstorm and execute innovative marketing campaigns.Experience in data and analytics platforms such as GA4, Adobe Analytics, and Parse.ly.Ability to design graphics, videos, and other visual forms of digital communications.Experience in driving impact and making a difference within philanthropy, nonprofits, and social impact programs.Strong organizational, time management, customer service, and data analysis skills.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams as well as external partners and customers.Creative thinker with a strategic mindset and the ability to generate innovative ideas.Salary And Benefits
