The mission of our AML team is to push next-generation machine learning algorithms and platform for the recommendation system, ads ranking and search ranking in our company. We are looking for Software Engineer - Machine Learning Training Infrastructure to join our team to support and advance that mission.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement a global-scale machine learning training system for feeds, ads, and search ranking models.Design and implement the orchestration layer of machine learning offline/online training processes.Improve usability and flexibility of the training APIs.Profile and optimize both training and validation frameworks to ensure efficient use of resources.Create, manage, and optimize data pipelines to ensure data availability for training.Qualifications:

Proficient in C/C++/CUDA/Python, with solid programming skills.Familiar with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow/PyTorch).Experience in developing and deploying large-scale systems.Ability to work independently and complete projects from beginning to end in a timely manner.Good communication and teamwork skills to clearly communicate technical concepts with other teammates.Experience improving core machine learning infrastructure (TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Jax).Preferred Qualifications:

Experience contributing to an open-sourced machine learning framework (TensorFlow/PyTorch).Experience in big data frameworks (e.g., Spark/Hadoop/Flink) and resource management for large scale distributed systems.Strong background in Hardware-Software Co-Design, High Performance Computing, ML Hardware Acceleration (e.g., GPU/RDMA) or ML for Systems.ByteDance is committed to creating an inclusive space where employees are valued for their skills, experiences, and unique perspectives. Job Information:【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $136800 - $205000 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
