The Platform Engineering team at Fieldguide is responsible for the stability, resiliency, and performance of the underlying infrastructure and application services that power the Fieldguide cloud platform. We’re seeing incredible growth as more and more customers onboard onto our platform, and we have major sweeping infrastructure initiatives to accomplish throughout the next year.
We are on the lookout for an exceptional engineer to join our tight-knit Platform team. In this role, you will be a key technical contributor to our small but mighty Platform team working directly alongside the application pillar of Platform to ensure world-class scalability and reliability of our products.What You'll Do:
Serve as a steward of our platform by designing, implementing, and testing our infrastructure to meet our application feature and scalability goalsFoster a learning culture within the team by conducting code reviews, root cause analysis, and continuous learning exercisesServe as a subject matter expert on our infrastructure to other teams seeking to build their services upon itCoordinate closely with the Application pillar in our Platform team as we tackle major initiatives like multi-region deployments and telemetry improvementsAbout You:
3+ years of total experience in SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure rolesExperience with high-uptime environments and IaC principlesExperience with cloud platforms, preferably AWSExperience with container runtime architectures such as KubernetesExperience creating and managing CI/CD pipelinesProficiency with at least one programming language, preferably TypeScript, Python, or Go1+ year in a startup environment or a desire to work at an earlier-stage startupWe'd love to talk to you if you have:
Deep knowledge of the Linux container and Kubernetes ecosystemsExtensive experience designing infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS)Experience in relational database design and administrationExperience in network administrationExperience with PaaS tools such as Vercel or HerokuMore about Fieldguide:
