Using discretion and judgment, provides legal counsel, planning and services on complex matters and issues to MFS, its subsidiary companies and its fund complexes.WHAT YOU WILL DO
Review and determine applicability of new or evolving regulatory requirements with which MFS must comply in order to sustain existing markets and grow in new markets.Work with business group leaders in ensuring their comprehension of specific regulations directly related to their business, as well as the general regulatory environment in which they operate.Negotiate, draft and review agreements over a wide variety of subject matter, from onboarding of Traders to commercial agreements.Assist in the management and use of external counsel for items in jurisdictions where MFS may not have appropriate experience. Be able to manage working in a multi-jurisdictional environment over a broad range of topics.Monitor changes to applicable global regulation and advise internal stakeholders.Follow established procedures, policies, protocols, and schedules to ensure that work is performed in accordance with set deadlines.Manage support team by providing prioritization, direction, training and coaching in order to accomplish projects and tasks.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor's Degree and Juris Doctorate Degree required.6-8+ years of post-bar work experience, ideally in investment management, financial services or industry-related firm.Must be a member in good standing of the Bar and maintain good standing for all necessary license(s) and/or professional qualifications.Experience with financial services preferred.At MFS, we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace.
