Santa Monica Proper Hotel is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Group Sales Manager to join our growing sales team.
A seamless merger of historic retrofit and new construction, our 271-room property features interior design by international style icon Kelly Wearstler, multiple dining options by local area culinary stars, a rooftop lounge and swimming pool, and 24,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
As the Senior Group Sales Manager, you will play a vital role in driving revenue growth by proactively identifying, securing and managing group and event business. Your exceptional sales skills, strategic thinking, and ability to foster strong client relationships will be pivotal in positioning our flagship property as a top choice for discerning clients and event planners.
Responsibilities
Assist in leading the Group Sales team, providing guidance, mentoring and fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets for group and event business segments.
Identify and cultivate new business opportunities through targeted prospecting, networking and relationship building with corporate clients, event planners and other key stakeholders.
Manage a portfolio of key accounts, nurturing relationships to ensure repeat business and customer loyalty.
Collaborate closely with the Director of Sales and Marketing to align sales strategies with overall hotel goals and branding.
Create customized event proposals and presentations that showcase the hotel's luxury offerings and unique event spaces.
Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients while ensuring alignment with hotel's revenue goals and profitability.
Stay informed about industry trends, market changes and competitive landscape to continuously refine sales strategies.
Act as a liaison between clients and hotel operations teams to ensure seamless execution of events, exceeding client expectations.
Attend industry events, trade shows and networking functions to promote the hotel's event capabilities and foster relationships.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in group sales within the luxury hotel or hospitality industry.
Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth in a competitive market.
Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing high-performing sales teams.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners and internal teams.
Proficiency in using CRM systems and sales tracking tools.
Creative thinker with the ability to tailor proposals to client needs and showcase the hotel's unique offerings.
Strong negotiation skills and a keen eye for detail in contract review.
Ability to work under pressure, multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of the Santa Monica hospitality market and its clientele preferences is a distinct advantage.
