Job Description

The

Senior Staff DevOps Engineer – Lab Infrastructure

will be primarily responsible for operating and managing lab infrastructure (on-prem and co-location facility), and automating lab tasks. Utilize tools like Netbox to maintain Infrastructure Inventory and ownership. Manage and support KVM/ESXI/OpenStack Virtual machine infrastructure.

The Engineering team develops innovative solutions that are transforming the internet security business, and millions of users rely on our service for data protection and comprehensive security. We also provide real-time analytics to our customers for unmatched visibility and maintain a state-of-the-art NOC. The development team works on integrating new OS and packages to support our Cloud infrastructure as well as public cloud infrastructure. Responsibilities/What You’ll Do

Collaborate with the lab ops team to manage and operate (Ops and SecOps) lab infrastructure in HQ lab as well as co-location facility.Build the backlog in identifying automation tasks to improve the efficiency of the lab ops team which are addressing day-to-day lab task tickets.Work on automation tasks using Ansible, Terraform, and Python scripts.Manage and resolve tickets to provide Developers requested Infrastructure KVM/ESXI/OpenStack environment.Maintain accurate lab inventory data in NetBox tool to aid efficient operation of the lab.

Qualifications/Your Background

A minimum of 10 years’ experience with software infrastructure focused roles supporting Linux/FreeBSD platform.Strong understanding of Linux/FreeBSD packaging concepts (dependencies, conflicts, repositories, package signing).Programming skills in Python, Perl, Ansible, Terraform, and Shell scripting.Broad and in-depth knowledge and technical experience with Windows/Linux or FreeBSD operating systems and/or Virtual environments and related hardware.Experience with cloud technologies such as OpenStack, VMware, AWS, Azure, GCP.Extensive experience with Exchange, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Computer Security, and/or Networking Protocols.Experience with server hardware (x86 processor architecture, memory, BIOS).Experience with types of storage drives (S-ATA, SAS, NVMe, etc.).Ability to independently set priorities and resolve complex problems in a fast-paced environment.Experience with high-bandwidth, high-speed storage networks and data archiving systems.Proficient interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills, with the ability to work independently and interact with a multi-disciplinary staff in a team environment.

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/bonus/equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range

$178,500 — $210,000 USD
