JOB SUMMARYThe General Manager is a key member of the management team responsible for demonstrating an entrepreneurial spirit and vision while providing high-level leadership of production-related metrics and overall execution of daily plant operation activities, ensuring high quality, cost-effectiveness, site productivity, timeliness and accuracy of processes, continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, as well as workplace safety for the entire production team. The General Manager will assist the Company in maintaining relationships with customers, generating new business, increasing staff productivity, improving service, ensuring sustainability and ensuring achievement of Company financial goals/objectives.

SALARY$100,000- $150,000 (commensurate with experience)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the plant in setting production, maintenance, safety, quality, supply chain and other production-related standards; Coordinate capital plans and ensure that plant key productivity indicators are measured and support strong financial results; Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed customer expectations.Communicate, incorporate and manage corporate goals; Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus while improving financial performance.Sustain production capacity that is synchronized with sales volume requirements, developing contingency plans as needed.Analyze data and metrics to evaluate staff performance; Lead and motivate employees to maximize performance and ensure various departments maximize their efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis and interdepartmental collaboration.Collaborate with Profit and Loss (P&L) to create strategic vision for organizational roadmap to achieve significant growth (including key business milestones) and enhanced financial results.Plan, monitor and manage financial budgets, including capital and expense budgets, for measurement toward objectives; Direct plant purchasing and vendor procurement and oversee efficient financial management of manufacturing departments.Enhance Company image and cultivate and preserve strong relationships through engagement with customers and vendors.Safeguard and augment the efficiency of the company’s manufacturing operations and utilize problem-solving skills to make sound decisions that ensure company objectives are met; Ensure the value stream assets are appropriately maintained through planning and implementation of maintenance programs and procedures, including preventative maintenance.Demonstrate flexibility in providing dynamic, goal-driven leadership presence during all shift schedules to achieve cohesive and high-performing teams; Successfully drive and maintain high morale, employee engagement, safety and teamwork.Facilitate the site leadership team in strategic decision-making and problem-solving.Establish group and individual accountabilities through annual goal planning and performance reviews.Effectively address employee issues/grievances and provide appropriate feedback.Champion the EHS, Lean and Quality strategy for the plant, demonstrating a strong and visible commitment to Company objectives; Ensure compliance with Company standards for cost control, waste reduction, improved efficiencies, quality, OSHA, safety and on-time delivery at the lowest possible cost.Build an execution engine that delivers predictable monthly performance and aggressive quarter over quarter continuous improvement.Review and analyze production reports, address production-related issues, manage monthly inventory, third party audits and job variances.In conjunction with Human Resources, oversee training programs for new and current employees.Develop strong working relationships with customer support team and sales management to maximize customer service.Communicate on a regular basis with President and COO to ensure company-wide goals are met or exceeded.May occasionally be required to travel, including travel related to customer meetings, networking events, industry conferences, etc.; Effectively interact with industry representative, executives and key stakeholders.Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONSRequired Education and Experience5-10 years plant management/operations experience, preferably in the envelope converting industry.Demonstrated experience with workflow management, systems management, waste reduction and operational efficiency; continuous improvement (Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)) experience a plus.Prior experience reflecting strong team building, decision-making and people management skills.In-depth knowledge of safety, quality, productivity and inventory processes.

Preferred Education and ExperienceAssociate’s, Bachelor’s or advanced degree.Experience in envelope manufacturing or printing industry.Previous quality management experience.Previous color management (G7).
