Responsibilities

Work within the organization to understand needs, goals, and objectives.

Develop secure, scalable, high-performance and reliable data engineering and analytics solutions in a cloud platform such as AWS or Snowflake.

Solve challenging data integration problems for complicated and diverse data sets, utilizing and coding optimal ETL patterns, frameworks, query techniques, and sourcing/merging from structured and unstructured data sources.

Design and develop data pipelines and cloud infrastructure components to support machine learning systems at scale.

Apply software engineering best practices to data engineering such as source code versioning, CI/CD, and automated testing.

Attend and participate in meetings with stakeholders, data owners, and project team members in order to gather requirements, provide expertise, and resolve issues in the context of a data solutions project.

Collaborate with business owners, data engineers, data scientists, and IT service owners in a global shared services environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field with additional experience.

4 - 6 years of experience as a Data Engineer, Software Engineer, or in a similar role.

Strong proficiency in Python (Pandas, Numpy, PySpark).

Highly experienced in developing using AWS cloud services, such as, but not limited to, S3, Redshift, Athena, Glue, Lambda, MWAA, DynamoDB, etc.

Experience with GitHub or GitLab.

Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building data pipelines.

Ability to translate business needs to technical requirements.

Ability to plan, problem-solve, and communicate precisely and thoroughly.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and additional experience.

Strong software/data engineering skills in complex, multi-language systems.

Experience developing and maintaining systems using open source software.

Knowledge and experience in analytics, data science, machine learning, and/or NLP.
