Who You Are
As the Director of Operations at Alameda you will oversee all aspects of manufacturing, sustaining and improvement engineering, planning, logistics, maintenance, and operational strategy to ensure that Sila's next generation battery material is produced safely with highly efficient processes. You will build a team to support first-of-its-kind toolsets, reliably meet production targets to support customer demand, and drive high expectations throughout the organization. Scaling the team, systems, and equipment to prepare for the next generation of technology and future operations will be critical. A strong foundation in manufacturing operations, production planning, process, mechanical, and controls engineering should be used to drive and motivate the team with a strong focus on building a continuous improvement mindset.
Responsibilities and Duties
Lead and manage a team of Engineering, Production, Planning, Facilities, New Tech Introduction, and Maintenance leaders that drive improved uptime and reliability for operational equipment, support design teams in the scaleup and startup of new technologies, and identify and implement capacity and efficiency improvements.Model and drive the commitment to safety through training, coaching, and engineering controls.Create and drive the team to a long term vision for the Alameda Operations.Focus the team on continuous improvement, utilizing equipment monitoring systems, improved planning systems, downtime tracking, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) reporting.Facilitate and drive root cause analysis with respect to tool performance and downtime. Design a team to take immediate action and implement corrective and preventative actions.Work with the Design & Development teams on large scale tool upgrades, new installs, and creating more robust processes for future technologies.Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Minimum of 15 years' experience in the manufacturing industry.Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or similar.Experience with industrial manufacturing tooling, automation, and controls.Demonstrates strong leadership skills with an affinity for mentoring and developing others.Strong initiative, organization, facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.Hands-on, committed, and structured approach to problem solving and troubleshooting using industry standard frameworks.Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Able to stand for extended periods of time.Work Schedule
Regular Shift: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm
Payscale Disclosure
The starting base pay for this role is between $200,000 and $253,000 at the time of posting. The actual base pay depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. Base pay is only one part of Sila's competitive Total Rewards package that can include benefits, perks, equity, and bonuses. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
