Position Summary:

Our Financial Reporting Senior Accountant will be essential in preparing our quarterly and annual SEC filings and other external and internal reporting. You will connect with teams across the company, gaining an understanding of the business and researching technical accounting matters. This position is a hybrid role open to candidates in the Seattle area, working at least three days out of our Seattle office per week.Key Responsibilities Include

Collaborate with accounting and other teams to set target dates and processes to prepare the information needed for SEC filings and other publicly presented information.Provide a detailed review of quarterly and annual financial documents, including all disclosures required for critical accounting areas.Tag filings to ensure XBRL compliance.Prepare quarterly and ad hoc investor relations reporting and information presentation.Work closely with external auditors to facilitate financial documents review/audit and SOX audit; coordinate audit requests and provide materials as needed.Test design and operating effectiveness for SOX business process controls and identify deficiencies.Experience

At least 2-3 years of professional financial accounting experience, preferably at a large public accounting firm.Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

SEC reporting and XBRL experience preferred, with good knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC rules and regulations.Solid understanding of Workiva SEC filing software and XBRL tagging is a plus but not required.Education, Registration & Certification

BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance required.CPA license (or in progress) preferred.Compensation

The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $90,000 on a full-time schedule.Along with the base salary, Trupanion employees may be eligible for monthly bonuses.We want all employees to be invested in Trupanion’s success, so we grant Restricted Stock Units to all new team members. Our new hire grants vest over 4 years.Additional Information
