The Home Team provides the foundation that enables an entire ecosystem of secure and intelligent home connectivity. We are developing technologies and building experiences that revolutionize the way people harmonize with their Homes. The team is seeking a highly motivated Quality Engineer who is passionate about analyzing and optimizing iOS apps and frameworks. You will be leading reliability and performance investigations based on field and internal testing to pinpoint areas of improvement, working cross-functionally to implement changes, and crafting benchmarks and tools to help streamline the process.
Key Qualifications
Expertise in driving 99.9% end-to-end product reliability based on insights driven by field data analysis
Innate ability to translate above insights into real-world lab test scenarios
In-depth knowledge of tools and techniques for analyzing and benchmarking operating systems, application/algorithm performance
Design and develop innovative ideas that tackle automation and execution problems
Deep understanding of Operating System and Wireless concepts
Expertise in data analysis/visualization tools like Splunk and Tableau
Thrive in a product-focused environment and comfortable working with multi-functional teams
Real passion for product quality and attention to detail
Proficient in writing tools and automations in Python
Proven track record to provide technical advice, leadership, and direction to project teams
Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills, including collaborating with external partners
Description
The HomeKit Performance team is always looking for innovative ways to develop new iOS apps and services to produce the highest levels of performance and reliability. We are seeking an experienced engineer that can help us lead technical investigations that help improve the stability of iOS, and then architect, design, and develop automated test solutions to benchmark and stress the HomeKit framework. Our goals are simple but the task is large; craft the most amazing home automation experience in the world that our customers will love.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $170,700 and $256,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
