Surgical sets the standard for Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) by creating innovative surgical products and services that focus on obesity and diseases and conditions of the gastrointestinal tract, lung, abdominal wall, pelvic region, and the head and neck.

Reporting to the Global Upstream Marketing Director, this role will play a key part in shaping the direction and execution of product development efforts within the Advanced Stapling portfolio to demonstrably increase the value of our product pipeline and drive growth. Portfolio responsibilities will include both robotic and handheld solutions. This person will serve as the marketing core team lead and will have ownership in evaluating market trends, gathering and assessing customer needs, generating sound business cases, and leading all aspects of marketing deliverables throughout the product development process.

This role will partner closely with other cross-functional teams to drive future growth for the Advanced Stapling portfolio to deliver a healthy product pipeline of new potential programs.

A Day in the LifeProduct Management: Support product development decisions for current and future Advanced Stapling products through deep understanding and analysis of the market and customers. Generate business plans, market requirements, and supporting materials to align all functional groups behind a common vision for the product portfolio.Voice of Customer: Conduct market research to uncover customer and business insights. Translate those insights into products and programs that deliver growth for the product category. Provide feedback and insight on the commercial viability of new concepts in the new product development process.Product Launch Excellence: Partner with downstream marketers to develop best-in-class product launch plans and packages. Champion product to market and provide support to all regions for successful execution of product launch metrics and revenue.Anticipated travel is approximately 30% travel time (domestic & international).Must Have: Minimum RequirementsBachelor's degree requiredMinimum of 4 years of relevant experience in marketing or product management, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in marketing or product managementMedical device/Healthcare industry experienceNice to HaveBachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Finance or similarMBAIncredible analytical skills and proficiency in building financial models and assessing strategic opportunitiesStrong understanding of surgical procedures and product performanceDemonstrated experience in strategic planning and achievement of business goalsDemonstrated ability to learn technical information and apply technical conceptsDemonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in a matrix organizationExercises superior judgment in planning, organizing, and executing workProven ability to work effectively as a team member across cross-functional teamsHighly effective written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated prioritization and organizational skillsAbility to rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and prioritiesPrevious product launch and upstream marketing experienceKnowledge of product development process, and demonstrated leadership in a matrix environmentExperience in BD&L or strategic planningAbility to manage concurrent, complex assignments under limited directionProficiency with a variety of personal computer software applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.About MedtronicTogether, we can change healthcare worldwide.
