Position Summary:
The FP&A Analyst is responsible for establishing and monitoring the financial performance of the business. The Analyst will create, monitor, and evaluate financial systems while providing forecasts, annual budgets, and consolidating financial data. This role may also support processing invoices, communication with vendors and internal staff, and general administrative tasks to facilitate smooth AR/AP operations.
Responsibilities:
Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
Maintains the general ledger.
Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
Files required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
As appropriate, coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.
Understand industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in accounts payable and financial management, and other relevant topics.
Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
2+ years work experience with financial accounting and cost accounting preferred.
Understanding and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and computer accounting systems.
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and transaction processing.
Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and compliance requirements is preferred.
