People like you.Job DescriptionPrimary Job Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions):DutiesEntry level Engineer I - Technical support position for new college graduate. The candidate will join a team of professionals providing high level and high-quality support to our customers (Military, Industrial, Financial, Space and Frequency and Time Synchronization Solution). Here are the main duties, among others, the Engineer I - Technical support will be performing:Learn in depth about network timing and synchronization.Learn about GPS timing and synchronization of networks and help in troubleshooting customer issues.Deep understanding of timing protocols like NTP, PTP, IRIG etc.Troubleshooting of customer’s Microchip timing and synchronization systems and equipment.Log customer cases in the CRM System.Work on solutions or workarounds and escalate if the customer is in a critical situation and no timely solution is available.Effective communication with the customer.Proactive communication with the Technical Support Management.Documentation of the solution and timely updates of the customer case status in the CRM.Focus on pre-sales and post sales technical engagements for Microchip FTS products.Provide front line technical and applications support for customers and internal sales forces.Provide technical presentations and training that reflect customer requirements and emphasize scalable features of Microchip FTS equipment.Requirements/QualificationsRequired Qualifications:EE or Metrology Engineering Degree, 0 to 2 years of experience.Familiar with LINUX operating system.Basic knowledge / understanding of frequency references, protocols and network timing technologies including NTP, PTP, IRIG, GPS, GNSS, Network Synchronization and Test Methodologies.Knowledge of protocols SNMP, SNTP, Ethernet, NTP, PTP.Perform Data Analysis using Proprietary Software tools.Effective communication skills (writing and speaking) and readiness to engage in Phone or Web-based Conference Calls.PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office.Preferred QualificationsWorks well in a team environment.Self-motivated and self-started skills with great organization skills.Systematic approach to problem solving with strong attention to detail.Effective and proactive communication.U.S. Export Controls Requirements: This job requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by the export laws of the United States.
