What You'll Do

Perform inspections of structural components in new constructionBe the responsible engineer on threshold buildingsPerform threshold inspections, including: CMU's, cast-in-place concrete, reinforcing steel, shoring/reshoring, post tensioned cable, precast/pre-stress members, wood-framed systemsConduct field observations and obtain samples for testingDocument field observations by transmitting daily field reports detailing site activitiesPerform destructive and non-destructive testing on construction materials, including operating electric, pneumatic and power actuated tools, performing ground penetrating radar (GPR) structural surveys, pavement condition surveys, and concrete sawing, coring, and chippingPerform observations of structural steel and reinforcing steel, including welded or bolted connections in the field, and observation of exterior insulation finishing systems (EIFS), waterproofing, roofing, or window assembliesCommunicate daily with site contractors, other technicians and project managersPerform administrative duties as requested

What We're Looking For

EI Certification

OR

Licensed PE or Registered Architect in Florida

OR

Registered Florida Building BN License

OR

General Contractor preferredSpecial Inspector license required4 years of Threshold Building inspection training on non-Threshold Buildings performed under the supervision of a Special Inspector who was responsible for monitoring the trainee's workValid Florida Driver's LicensePosition requires carrying 40 - 70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lifting 85 lbs to waist heightAdditional certifications required as follows:

If inspecting concrete components, certification from the American Concrete Institute (ACI) in concrete construction special inspection pursuant to the qualifications of such certification established by ACI on January 1, 2017.If inspecting masonry components, certification from the International Code Council (ICC) in structural masonry special inspection pursuant to the qualifications for such certification established by ICC on January 1, 2017.If inspecting post-tensioned components, certification from the Post-Tensioning Institute (PTI) in post-tensioning inspection pursuant to the qualifications for such certification established by PTI on January 1, 2017.If inspecting structural steel components, certification from the International Code Council or American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) in structural steel special inspection pursuant to the qualifications for such certification established by ICC on January 1, 2017, or AISC.
