Your journey begins here.The Denver office of Hogan Lovells is seeking an outstanding mid-level associate to join our highly regarded Environment practice. Ideal candidates should have 2 to 4 years of regulatory experience, preferably from a large law firm. The associate will principally advise clients on environmental compliance and enforcement defense matters, with roughly 50 percent of the associate’s time focused on the transportation sector. The position will afford the incoming associate the opportunity to work directly with clients, to gain experience working with leaders in the field, to advocate before various federal and state agencies, and to join a growing, global team of subject-matter specialists.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with hazardous materials and hazardous waste regulations.Knowledge of the Clean Air Act, the Toxic Substances Control Act, and federal and state cleanup laws.Experience representing clients in the rail industry is a significant plus.Strong research and writing skills.Excellent academic credentials.Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to excellence.Ability to effectively mentor and supervise more junior associates.Compensation for this role will be top-of-market, with an annualized salary range of $225K to $295K, depending on the candidate’s overall experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position may be eligible for a discretionary or an hours-based bonus, consistent with market practice. In addition, this position will be eligible for the firm’s fringe benefits as they currently exist.A resume or CV is a must for our application system.
