Job Overview:The Incoming Material Inspector examines and inspects materials and products to ensure incoming specifications have been met prior to release to manufacturing. Document and communicate the results of inspections to the Quality Assurance Department and others.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Conduct visual inspection of purchased materials and parts to procedures or specifications and disposition based upon results.
Document and submit non-conforming materials reports.
Communicate inspection results as needed to appropriate personnel.
Work with the supply chain team to process rejected material to return to vendors or scrap.
Create inspection history files of records, test results, and inspection data.
Record and track daily and quarterly metrics such as IQC backlog and average inspection time.
Handle materials in accordance with procedures and prevent mix-ups, damage or other adverse effects.
Log/track materials through the receiving inspection process.
Record transactions and move materials to stock locations.
Perform any other projects or duties that may be assigned.
Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent.
1-2 years’ experience inspecting parts, or related experience.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively interact with coworkers, vendors, and other office staff.
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices.

Relevant computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook).
Detail-oriented and organized.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and be adaptable.

Minimum Required Training:GMP Training
Working Environment:
Must have the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Must be able to work during the weekend, holidays, and as required by the company.
May be exposed to infectious diseases transmittable through human blood, tissues, or bodily fluids.
Must utilize proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling all human specimens, gases, corrosive chemicals, and liquid nitrogen.
Must be able to handle the standard/moderate noise of the manufacturing facility.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Must be physically capable to stand; walk; sit; bend; stretch; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear, balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee is frequently required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally move tanks up to 300 pounds (with assistance).
