We are looking for an experienced data scientist who is interested in joining an innovative and fast-growing storage group. You will be trusted to focus both on the storytelling aspects of data science as well as complex model development for investment ideas and operational improvements.As part of the asset management group, you will work closely with operational and investment personnel to proactively identify investment and operational opportunities, draw insights from in-house investment and alternative data, innovate solutions, and enhance operational effectiveness.A background in finance is preferred but not necessary. This role is in Denver and requires a physical presence in our office three days per week.Job Responsibilities:
Work with operations and accounting personnel to understand sources of opportunities and improve the decision-making processBuild tools and systems to understand decision data, context, and events around it to enhance net operating incomeWork with partners in technology and user experience to build out tools providing real-time insights to the teamTake part in projects along the full data science spectrum, from data acquisition and wrangling to model selection to presentation and data visualization.Create analysis reports and presentations, deliver ad-hoc analysis in Tableau, Excel, R or PythonEngage with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver insights to help shape their actionsRun data science research projects; create tools, techniques, and practices to maximize the efficiency of the teamLiaise with IT to develop and enhance technical tools including steering the development of the analytics data warehouse for enterprise dataApply various modeling techniques to uncover insights in dataDescribe your results and findings to tell a story with dataExplore new data sets and their interaction with existing modelsBe a core member of our team, tackling multiple projects at onceTake on a broad scope of work and an evolving roleAbout SpareBox
