GEICO is seeking a dynamic and visionary individual to join our Exchange Hub Engineering team. The Exchange Hub team is dedicated to facilitating seamless and secure communication and collaboration across all internal and external third parties by collecting, managing and optimizing the exchange of data.

An ideal candidate is intellectually curious, has a solution-oriented mindset, and enjoys learning new tools and techniques. You will have the opportunity to design and deliver the centralized and secure data exchange platform, related SDK, and related tools to collect, manage, and analyze user data from various sources for personalized and data-driven Insurance products and services. You would utilize Metering, Telemetry & Streaming Technologies to enhance risk assessment and customer engagement through real-time data collection, data store and data analysis.

As a Distinguished Engineer, you will:

Focus on multiple areas and provide technical leadership to the enterpriseCollaborate with product managers, team members, customers, and other engineering teams to solve complex problemsDevelop and execute technical software development strategy for a variety of domainsAccountable for the quality, usability, and performance of the solutionsUtilize programming languages like Python, C# or other object-oriented languages, SQL, and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of Azure tools and servicesMentor and help coach and strengthen the technical expertise and know-how of our engineering and product communityInfluence and educate leadership at all levelsConsistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teamsAnalyze cost and forecast, incorporating them into business plansDetermine and support resource requirements, evaluate operational processes, measure outcomes to ensure desired results, demonstrate adaptability and sponsor continuous learningQualifications:Fluency and specialization with at least two modern languages such as Java, Python or C# including object-oriented designExperience building products of micro-services oriented architecture and extensible REST APIsExperience building the architecture and design of new and current systems (architecture, design patterns, reliability, scaling, assessment, and proposals)Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as codeFluency in DevOps Concepts, Cloud Architecture and Azure DevOps Operational FrameworkExperience in leveraging PowerShell scriptingExperience in existing operational portals such as Azure PortalExperience with application monitoring tools and performance assessmentsExperience in Datacenter structure, capabilities, and offerings, including the Azure platform and its native servicesExperience in security protocols and products: understanding of Active Directory, Windows Authentication, SAML, OAuthExperience in Azure Network (subscription, security zoning, etc.)In-depth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithmsExperience with solving analytical problems with quantitative approachesAbility to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environmentKnowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, operations, real-time communication)Exemplary ability to design, perform experiments, and influence engineering direction and product roadmapExperience partnering with engineering teams and transferring research to productionTrack-record of publications history in credible conferences and journalsExperience:12+ years of professional software development experience within the .NET framework (C# including object-oriented design)10+ years of experience with architecture and design6+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service6+ years of experience in open-source frameworksEducation:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experienceAnnual Salary:$120,000.00 - $300,500.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
