Job Description SummaryThe College of Business and Graduate School of Management at Lewis University seeks to establish a pool of potential undergraduate adjunct instructors on an ongoing basis to serve as dynamic and student-centered educators in service of the Finance discipline. Focused on experiential learning and active engagement, adjuncts chosen to teach at Lewis will create a charismatic and professional learning environment for students of diverse learning backgrounds. Adjunct faculty report to their respective department chair and/or the dean and perform instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies, and procedures of the University.
Responsibilities
Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence, and respectful collaboration.
Teach their course(s) either at the Romeoville (Main), Oak Brook, and/or Albuquerque campuses.
Availability to teach during the weekday or evening or online.
Prepare course materials, syllabus, and update Blackboard course shells (LMS platform).
Participate in required University and College activities, trainings, and certifications.
Provide support and guidance to students.
Cooperate with department chairs or other program faculty to assure quality and consistency across the program.
Minimum Qualifications
A Master's Degree in the chosen or related discipline is required; for Finance courses, a Master's degree in Finance (MBA or MS Finance) and CFA certification with business experience preferred.
Possesses excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
All hired adjunct faculty must successfully complete the Lewis University Online Teaching Certification Program.
Candidates must demonstrate a willingness to be flexible in class scheduling.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred to have a minimum of ten years in mid to senior management positions, demonstrating mastery of the subject matter discipline in the classroom.
Preferred to provide evidence of prior quality teaching and/or training experiences.
Experience with Blackboard and hybrid delivery, not required, but desirable.
Work hoursPart-time; adjunct positions at Lewis University may instruct one or two courses each semester on an "as needed" basis.
